The SMARTMILK technology will be presented in an open demonstration due to February 27th, 2013, to share the final results of an alternative milk treatment method to pasteurisation that is based on a combination of thermosonication and pulsed electric field (PEF) technologies.
IRIS R&D headquarters in Castelldefels, Barcelona (Spain) will hold this technical session, addressed to all SMEs, companies and organisations in the agrofood and dairy sectors. The project consortium, from organisations and universities across Europe, will be present at the SMARTMILK final event.

11:15 – Demonstration of the SMARTMILK technology, including Q&A, in IRIS laboratories.
12.00 – Validation of the SMARTMILK technology, by Dr Ana Rodríguez from the Dairy Products Institute of Asturias (CSIC-IPLA)
12.15 – Conclusions and future steps of the SMARTMILK technology

Dr Edurne Gaston Estanga, from IRIS, will lead the demonstration event. She coordinates the SMARTMILK project and she leads the Food Technology area in IRIS. The technical team of the project and members of the consortium will attend this event and will answer questions raised by any attendee.
